Silesian agglomeration – decrease of vacancy rate

In the Silesian agglomeration shopping centre market consistently counts as one of the biggest markets in Poland, along with the one of Warsaw. More than 1.2 mln m² of retail space consists of 49 shopping centres and retail parks.

At the end of H1 2019 a decrease in vacancy rate was noted by 0.8 p.p. (currently 2.5%) in comparison to the previous half of a year.

Silesian shopping centres are very diverse when it comes to attractiveness and rate of rented space. After a few years of  operation, many of them need thorough modernisation.

However, we had also the pleasure of viewing a new modern scheme in Gliwice – the Silesia Outlet Center. In March 2019, the first phase of the complex was completed.

We are still observing the expansion of non-food discount stores, apart from the present Pepco and KIK brands, there are also new participants on the market, such as TEDi, ACTION and Dealz.

We have encountered new premises of TEDi in the Forum in Gliwice and the Platan in Zabrze.

The ACTION brand, however, launched stores in the Europa Centralna in Gliwice and the Galena in Jaworzno.

Meanwhile Dealz opened their new shops in the Gemini Park Tychy and the Agora in Bytom.
